ITS App

The ITS application is the smart traffic engineer in the iTLC solution. Based on the remote information, like priority requests and overall traffic offering, it can (and must) influence the standard light switch pattern of the traffic light controller. (The TLC is only aware of a standard and fixed program, when not influenced from remote.)

Based on the available information, the ITS is responsible for:

• optimization Optimizing the trafficflow, with the effect that there is a minimum waiting time for the modalities using the intersection, taking the demands of the road administrtor into acount.
• prioritization Providing priority for certain modalities as emergency vehicles or pedestrians.
