UC 22: Park & Ride facility information
Operation of the use case
What
Providing both static and dynamic real-time information about Park & Ride, motorway car parks and carpool car parks.
Purpose
Encourage the use of P&R, increase the prop
Actors:
- The road authority (or manager of the car park) provides information about the number of parking spaces and services offered
- Service provider forwards this information to the road user
- Road users use this information to make informed decisions
- Service provider collects information from road users (RUF)
Flow:
- The service provider receives static and dynamic information for each P&R car park via the MI.
- The information shall be made available to relevant vehicles via an appropriate HMI.
- The driver shall take this information into account when planning his journey.
- The service provider also collects RUF and sends this information to the PIP.
Vehicle Viewpoint
The service provider shares the information from P&R facilities with road users who are looking for a suitable parking space before or during the journey.
Other road users' point of view
The service provider collects real-time information from other road users (RUF) who are in a P&R car park.
Data sources
Minimum Requirements
The following static data sources are ingested:
-
WFS Parking Lots Flanders: https://opendata.apps.mow.vlaanderen.be/opendata-geoserver/awv/wfs?service=WFS&version=2.0.0&request=GetFeature&&typeName=awv:Parkeerterrein
- Location of the car park: polygon within which the parking infrastructure is located
- Services offered in the car park
- services found in the source: petrolStation / Cafe / Restaurant / Hotel / Shop / Sanitary
- → no prices in the source
- → security level = 'unknown' for each parking in the source
- Total parking capacity by vehicle type
- Number of passenger cars, trucks, buses
-
RUF
- Occupancy rate: RUF is used to estimate the real-time occupancy rate in the form of a qualitative indicator (quiet, busy, full). The representation of the exact occupancy is not possible due to the lack of a quantitative data source.
- Free text: general user feedback on the available static parking information.
Data Processing (PIP)
1. Collect static parking information and make it available
The static P&R data includes all the parameters listed above for all Park&Ride parking zones in Flanders.
The static information will be published by the PIP via the Static Rest API.
Format: DATEX-II.
2. Collect, process and make available RUF dynamic occupancy rates
Identical to UC21.
3. Make Free text RUF available on AWV feedback API
Identical to UC21.
RUF
See UC21. where the elaboration is for truck parks, which also applies to P&R facilities.
